On Friday June 25th, current president of the Detroit Lions football team was ticketed for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) by the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department. Lewand was returning home from a charity golf event held that afternoon.
The question now is, what should happen to Lewand regarding this matter and how sternly should Roger Goodell – commissioner of the National Football League – deliver the appropriate consequences on behalf of the league?

40 wins and 6 games over .500.
If that was the offer before the season started — that after 76 games the Detroit Tigers would be 6 games over .500 and in 2nd place in the Central Division — would you have taken it? Would you have been happy to take it?
Either way of course, that’s where Detroit stands. And after the 8-1 home-stand against some less-then-stellar National League teams, the Tigers have struggled so far on the road dropping consecutive series to the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves.
But fear not, Interleague play has come to an end and now Detroit can get back to playing games that will truly have a direct impact on their standing in the division.
And if Detroit is actually going to challenge for the Central Division crown, there is not a time better than now to make a sorely needed statement by taking the upcoming series from the arch-enemy Minnesota Twins. In fact, so far this year, playing in Minnesota outdoors has looked alot like playing in Minnessota under the roof of the ole’ Metrodome…horrid!
In Detroit’s only visit to Minneapolis in 2010, the Tigers were swept out of town. And for the year, the Twins enjoy 4 wins vs. 2 losses to the Tigers.
This is an important series, make no mistake. The road-trip will come to an end at the conclusion of Wednesday afternoon’s game. The Tigers, if they so choose, can return home up as many as 2 1/2 games or behind by as many as 3 1/2 and possible in 3rd place in the Central Division behind suddenly hot Chicago.
I know if you asked me before the season started what my choice would be.
